Halloween Frenzy

Halloween is my favorite time of the year (other than Christmas). My birthday, my best friends birthday and Halloween all in one weekend means a lot of partying. This year, I knew I wanted to be Harley Quinn since I saw the movie Suicide Squad. I did think the movie would be better than it was but I still decided to be Margot Robbie's character because she was crazy good for this part. I loved how Harley was psychotic in the movie but still so hot. The way she used her looks to trick people made me think of how fun it would be to dress up like her for Halloween. Plus, the blue and red eye makeup sold me since it is not universally accepted to wear clown makeup any other day of the year. I had ordered her iconic "Daddy's Little Monster" tee in September from Spencer's because I knew a lot of people were planning on being Harley Quinn for Halloween. I then thought to myself, "I can't walk around the Bronx in underwear and fishnets so I need to think of something a little less revealing." I had already purchased a lace up black body skirt in the summer so I thought if I paired that with fishnets, it would add a little edge and I could make it my own. So i did that and threw on my heeled combat boots and viola! The make up was my favorite part of the costume though. It took me 4 trials before I knew how to get it exactly right. I had my friend take some pictures of my costume and then I realized how great she looked. She was an alien and wore a metallic bracelet from American Apparel. Her makeup consisted of loads of highlight and white eyeshadow. Her hair was placed in two little buns on the top of her head which mimicked antennas.
Here's some pictures of our costumes:
And for my second costume, (this was my birthday) I decided I wanted to still look pretty and scary at the same time. I found these lace bunny ears at Misguided and fell in love! I've always wanted to wear something like this but when else is it okay to walk around with bunny ears? I wore all black (are you surprised?) and heeled ankle boots. This costume was very last minute and simple but to be honest, it was my favorite! I don't have a full body picture so I'll just share the picture I instagrammed from that day.

Boston

Everyone has their 4th of July traditions. I, however, do something different every year. My friends and I planned to go to Boston this year to celebrate America's independence. We looked all over for hotels but they just seemed so expense to only stay for 3 nights so we decided to look into Air Bnb's. If you don't know what Air Bnb is, it's a company that allows people to rent out their apartment/houses/condos to people who are traveling. It makes everything easier and allows you to  contact the host directly. We found a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in the South End of Boston. This was my first time in Boston and the one thing I will say is, it is no New York. I adored Boston and all of the history the city had to offer. The streets were filled with brownstones that made you feel like Carrie Bradshaw's apartment was duplicated and placed on every single street in the main area of Boston. The one place I really wanted to go was Newbury Street which is known for all of the shops. Sadly, we did not make it to Newbury Street but we did hang out in the commons, a park located in downtown Boston. We spent the day walking around and listening to music. I did not take as many pictures as I had hoped because we rented Citi bikes and rode around for travel. I managed to take a few though just to show you guys!

On A Snoozzze Day

Who doesn't love a pair of pajamas that are comfy and cute? The answer is NO ONE. Literally everybody likes pajamas and if you don't then you're doing something wrong. One of my favorite websites for anything fun and practical is Misguided. They are really just killing it. Everything about their brand/website is perfection. For months I had been lusting over a pajama set with the quote "On A Snoozzze Day" plastered on the butt. Considering the fact that it was a parody of Drake's "On a Tuesday" I thought it was pretty clever. Now put Drake and pajamas together and you have my heart. So naturally, I asked for a pair for Christmas and thanks to Santa, I got them! I also had an impromptu photoshoot in my roommates bed to show them off... :)
